Nature Middle East has covered our paper on the Egyptian Mediterranean fisheries under the title “Egyptian fisheries need urgent action to combat effects of overexploitation and climate change”. The article summarises the century-long reconstruction of Egypt’s catches (1920–2019) and the main finding: overexploitation, “fishing down” the food web and climate change are acting together on the same fisheries, and management has to answer all three.
